Coronavirus has been a widespread event that continues to exist and infect people globally. That being said, social distancing has become the new normal now. More and more companies have rerouted to work from home due to lockdowns all over the world.
This means that no services will work outside, the majority of workforces will happen from home. Also, many grocery stores will function limitedly.
So, at times like this, if your phone starts to show underlying issues or stops working, it can be a difficult scenario. Because amidst this lockdown, we rely on our smartphone far more than we think.
For instance, playing games, connecting with our friends and family, and more. Getting your phone repaired is a tough call because service centers won’t be open. So, what happens when you come in terms with such situations? Well, you can still get your smartphone repaired without stepping outside of the house. Follow the rest below!
How to Get Your Smartphone Fixed in Covid-19 Lockdown?
Having a broken smartphone during lockdown can be stressful because there is no availability of service outside. But, you can still get it fixed without a problem:
1. Fixing iPhone Devices
If your iPhone device is in a working condition but you’re having trouble with its performance, lag, slow response, or frequent screen freezing, then you have an option to get it fixed at home. All you need to do is download the application called “Apple Support App”.
There, you can get in touch with many Apple Support executives who can guide you through the issue and provide solutions that you can do yourself. Also, the application is capable of running a diagnosis on your smartphone. This helps to rule out the problem and fix it.
However, if your device is physically damaged or liquid damaged, then you need to consult the Apple Service Provider for an appointment. All you have to do is go to the Apple Support page and click on the option called “Send in For Repair”. This implies that the phone will be picked up from your house and repaired at their center until you get it back again.
2. Fixing Android Device
If you have an android device then don’t worry. You can get it fixed too. Even though Android devices do not have their central service center, the problem can be still solved through phone manufacturers.
Get in touch with your wireless carrier who is responsible for making your device. Brief in about the problem and let them guide you through issues related to performance, storage, configurations, and their solutions.
Or, you can research more about the nearest home tech service providers. These services include repairing Android devices from home. Upon request, a technician will come to your location to fix the problem with the necessary equipment.
However, be mindful of choosing an authentic service provider. Lastly, you can call in a reputable service provider or email them and set an appointment to see when they are open.
3. Reduced Battery? Change Charger/Battery
If you see that your phone’s battery has been draining out too fast, then there might be some issues with the battery itself. At times like this, E-commerce platforms flourish, so you can get a replacement done.
Check the battery type related to the phone model (if removable) and then place an order of the same battery. If it’s a non-removable battery, then research online on how to disassemble the back cover to get the battery out.
If your phone is not taking any charge then your charger might be spoilt. Similarly, you can get a replacement done with a brand new charger from any online platform.
4. Water Damaged Phone? Use Rice Bag
One of the biggest fears we have is accidentally dropping the phone in a bucket full of water. If you’ve accidentally dropped your phone in water, then without any waiting, take it out instantly. Now, here’s where it might get tricky. Do not attempt to turn the device on as that can be dangerous due to shorting. Now, here’s the difficult part.
Take a bag and, approximately, put 2 to 3 kilograms of uncooked dry rice in it. Now, take the smartphone and dip in the bag full of rice. Make sure you place deep inside the bag so that it’s completely covered in rice. Now, keep it stored in normal room temperature for 3 to 5 days. After that, take it out of the bag and turn it on. Let the system inside run for a while until you charge it up again.
